1. About these terms

These terms apply to your use of the Rapid Field Horizon website. They are separate from any engagement agreement, which is a written contract agreed with you individually, and which takes priority over these terms for the work it covers. By using the website you accept these terms; if you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

2. What this website is

The website is an introduction to a small management consultancy. It describes how we work and shows a selection of general articles. It is not an offer that can be accepted by clicking a button: no price is listed, no order can be placed here, and no contract is formed through the website. Work begins only after we have talked, sent you a written quotation and you have agreed to it.

3. Engagements

An engagement is agreed in writing and sets out the scope, the schedule, what access we need to your site and people, the fee and expenses, and the confidentiality terms. We may decline an engagement, or stop discussing one, if it does not fit the practice. Changes to an agreed scope are made in writing by both sides.

Our deliverables are advice: analysis, facilitation and written recommendations. Decisions based on them are yours. We do not guarantee commercial results such as revenue, cost savings, market share or the outcome of an acquisition, because those depend on decisions and conditions outside our control.

4. Limits of our advice

Rapid Field Horizon provides management consulting. We do not give legal, tax, accounting, valuation, labour-law or investment advice, we do not act as an intermediary in the sale or purchase of companies, and we do not conduct regulated activities. Questions of that kind belong to licensed professionals such as lawyers, tax accountants, labour and social security attorneys or certified public accountants, and we are happy to work alongside the advisers you already have. This website does not claim any professional licence or registration.

Where an article or a service description mentions mergers, restructuring, employment or planning, it describes the management side of the work in general terms and is not a substitute for advice on your particular case.

5. Articles and general information

The articles are general essays about planning, operations and integration in Japanese companies. They reflect a point of view, are written for a broad readership and are not tailored to any company. Examples are illustrative and do not describe a particular client. Please check anything that matters to your decision with a qualified adviser before relying on it.

6. Accuracy of the site

We try to keep the information on this site correct, but a change can take a little while to appear, and we do not promise that every page is complete or free of error. Photographs are illustrative stock images and do not show our clients, their sites or the people of the practice. Descriptions of services are summaries; the written quotation is what binds us.

7. Intellectual property

The text, layout and original material on this site belong to Rapid Field Horizon, and photographs are used under the licence of their respective sources. You may read the site, link to it and quote short passages with a clear credit and a link back. Copying whole pages, republishing the articles, or using the material for commercial purposes needs our written permission.

8. Acceptable use

Please use the site and its contact forms for genuine enquiries only. Do not try to disrupt the site, scrape it at a rate that harms it, send unsolicited advertising through the contact forms, or submit information that belongs to someone else without their permission.

9. Links to other sites

The site may link to other websites, such as public authorities or reference material. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices.

10. Disclaimer and liability

We provide the website as it is. To the extent that the law allows, Rapid Field Horizon is not liable for loss arising from your use of the site or from reliance on its general content, including indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for intentional or grossly negligent acts. Liability under an engagement is governed by the engagement agreement.

11. Confidentiality

Information that you share with us in connection with an engagement is treated as confidential and used only for that engagement. Detailed confidentiality terms are written into the engagement agreement, and a separate non-disclosure agreement can be arranged before you share sensitive material.

12. Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms as the practice or the law changes. The version published on this page, with the date at its top, is the one that applies. If you keep using the site after a revision, you accept the revised terms; engagements already agreed are not affected.

13. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms and the use of this website are governed by the laws of Japan. If a dispute cannot be settled by discussion, the court with jurisdiction under the Code of Civil Procedure of Japan will hear it. We would rather settle problems directly first, so please write to us before taking any other step.
